The weather was a little cool and windy but we got our second race of the season over . What a turn out we had with 27 cars on hand. Yes Dewayne Silance won the event but he wasn't the fastest car all day just the most consistent. Steve Bray and Glen Jones both recorded career best ET's Steve was the #1 qualifier at a 4.396 @ 162.35 and Glen Jones was the quickest of the event when he recorded a new POWERGLIDE track record of A 4.376 @ 169.32 in the second round. These guys have really stepped it up . They both would like to thank Bobby Leonard And Robert Hayes from L&H Racecars as they have been working with both teams and really have there cars working well. We had an invasion of Virginia Racers as 5 of our returning Virginia Racers brought 9 other Virginia Racers with them so it was kind of Virginia and North Carolina  Shoot Out. All the way to the finals were it was North Carolina's  Dewayne Silance with his 706 NOS Buck powered 68 Camaro over Henry Butler's all motor Lee Edwards 814 powered 2000 Camaro. We did have a little scare when Nick Cline had the throttle stick. Nick was able to save it but he did brush the guard rail. A little body damage bent rim ,broken fuel fitting and cracked up front end. Mike said all is repairable which is nice to hear . The worst part was the next round we drew for the bye and Nick got the buy. Talk about rubbing salt in a wound. Just glad everyone was fine. Hope to see them at Dunn Benson on May 20.
